Honest Solar pays the people who do the work, not a call center.
Honest Solar is a construction company that installs residential solar in Austin. We run our own jobs: owner on site, licensed master electrician oversight, and we engage skilled trades on a 1099 basis to build them right. We're looking for mechanical installers who set a clean, square array and licensed electricians who know a service panel and a microinverter system cold. This is project-based work. When a project fits your trade, we reach out to contract that scope with you. We can't promise a set volume, but we pay on time and we hand you a defined scope, not a moving target.
How this works
Most work here starts as 1099, contract by contract. As Honest Solar grows, some of those relationships can open into longer-term roles. We're looking for trades who do clean work and keep showing up, the kind of people a bench gets built from. We'd rather grow it than churn through it.

- Calling out a problem on site before you build over it.
- Trade fundamentals over solar tenure.
Who we work with
Solar installers and mechanical crews, roofers, laborers, apprentice and journeyman and master electricians, and crew leads who bring a team.
